SHIPPING & DELIVERY

How long will delivery of my items take?

Delivery to most main centres take 2-4 working days from the time your payment clears in our account. Unfortunately, due to fraud, we cannot release shipments from a Proof of Payment alone. Please note that some items take longer to prepare for shipment than others, and we endeavour to keep you updated regarding the progress.

How can I speed up the delivery of my items?

Choosing the direct bank transfer EFT payment option, and selecting “pay immediately” on your banking profile, will speed up the process significantly. We bank with FNB, and therefore FNB clients’ payments should automatically clear on our side on the same day. In terms of shipping, you might have the “Overnight” or “Sameday” options available when you check out. Please note that “Overnight” or “Sameday” doesn’t always have the literal meaning. The items need to be picked and packaged properly for shipment first. Some items are tested first and verified to ensure the latest available firmware is installed.

Can I collect my products from Solar Spot’s premises?

Ideally, no. Solar equipment is complex, often large and heavy, and also fragile. Therefore we ship from various remote warehouses, and not from out office. These warehouses operate on very lean principles to ensure costs are kept low, which ultimately benefit you as the end use client. However, this means the warehouses do not deal with end user collections and/or 3rd party courier companies who cannot abide by their assigned collection timeslots. If you are based in Cape Town and you would really like to collect the items from us, a handling fee is still charged, as we need to transport the equipment from the remote warehouse to our offices. We might then also need to depalletize the items in order for you to load in your vehicle. Why is there only a discount for Direct Bank Transfer payments?

We pay 2% of the sales value in fees for the use of payment gateways. When you pay direct EFT to our account, we happily give the saving to our valued clients instead of the payment gateway. For this reason, EFT made via PayFast, is unfortunately also not eligible for the 2% discount.

Why does your Bank Account show “5D Innovations cc” and not Solar Spot?

Solar Spot is our Trading name, specifically used for our online store. 5D Innovations is our registered holding company name, we are also involved in various other fields such as engineering. 5Di Energy Products was our original Solar Sales Channel, but is more focussed towards complete installations. Do you offer installations?

Our holding company 5D Innovations, has a division called 5Di Energy Products. This unit performs installations, and you are welcome to talk to us directly here at Solar Spot regarding your installation requirements. Please have a look at the “Find an Installer” page on our website, where we list our associates, as well as various independent installers who you can contact for installations.
